Welcome to Session Nine Photographers

We are Jason + Jessica Williams, and we are so stoked that you are here! We're a husband and wife international photography duo with a homebase in Scottsdale AZ. Using something as simple as a camera, we're able to share life and love, laughter and light, through fantastic friends that we meet along the way. We are constantly amazed that we have the opportunity to do this in life. If you dig what we're doing, then we'd love to share your story.

It was a very fitting place for Paul & Jessica to marry each other in, Jessica’s aunt’s house. It was a house design based entirely off of a house that her aunt had fallen in love with back in the Midwest some years ago. It was warm and open. Inviting and memorable. Just like Paul & Jess.

We met Paul & Jess in a Starbucks last summer and we got to learning about them quick. How both of them had really sort of been through the “relationship ringer”, as they say, and were in a season of just wanting to be single for a while when their paths crossed. Paul’s best man, Adam, connected them and at first they were reluctant to even meet but finally gave in.

And oh how that giving in turned into something so sweet.

Paul shared their story of the night he asked Jess to be his wife, and how he involved Jess’s two young daughters. It was the best. His love for Jessica and her daughters was emanating from him.

We spent several evenings over laughs and food, talking and dreaming about their upcoming day together. And then just like that it was here. Her aunt’s home was alive with raucous, celebratory family conversations as they all prepared to witness Paul & Jess wed. As night fell, the party got even louder and more joyous. There was even two spot-on renditions of Justin Beiber’s “Baby” and Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby” to really top the night off well.

And as Paul & Jessica sped off into the horizon, new husband and wife, we again noticed how warm and bright and alive the house seemed, even as the guests had all but dispersed. “Your home was perfect for today. And we felt so relaxed and at home ourselves here, ” we both told her aunt.

It was indeed a pretty phenomenal place for a wedding for these two. And it was a pretty phenomenal day overall.

Here’s some of that day in pictures. Paul + Jessica….

We just loved these two from the very first time we met with them. We loved their story, the way they looked at each other, and the way they made us feel like we had been friends of theirs for a very long time.

Jake + April actually met when they were kids, believe it or not! Their parents and families used to vacation together throughout their childhoods, so their paths crossed many times. It’s amazing to think that neither of them knew or probably even considered that they were going to eventually, one day, marry one another. It’s such a great story.

Throughout their engagement this past year, we’ve been able to watch all the details for their wedding day come together. It was always a blast to hear about all different things that they envisioned and had planned for this day. And their wedding was GORGEOUS. But at the end of the day, we could tell that what BOTH Jake + April REALLY couldn’t wait for, was to be husband and wife. To celebrate with friends and family and to start the rest of their lives together. They are a perfect fit together. We had an amazing time celebrating with them.

So without further ado… Jake + April…

Have you ever been to The Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale? It’s seriously rad.

And was the perfect spot for this fabulously engaged duo, TJ + Andi. The Hotel Valley Ho was built in 1956 and renovated more recently than that. This mid-century modern landmark was the perfect mix of playfulness and style that we were looking for, for this shoot.

TJ and Andi met us there a couple of weeks ago ready for anything. So we spent an entire afternoon roaming all over these seriously cool grounds. We even took advantage of the awesome beach cruisers that they have available to their guests! And, FYI- did anyone ELSE know about the AMAZING rooftop we stumbled across there? That was a pretty sweet find, we think! We had a great time hanging with them and getting to know them and their story better. They are tying the knot this upcoming October at The Duce in Downtown Phoenix. We are SO excited to be apart of it and we know it’s going to be incredible. For now, we’ll let the images speak for themselves.

Meet one of our seriously rad couples, TJ + Andi…

These two couldn’t have been more made for one another. If you know them personally, you’ll more than likely agree with us.

We think some of the best weddings we’ve been privileged enough to shoot, are the ones where the bride and groom are one hundred percent dialed in to everything and everyone around them. There’s no need for stress, no impatient attitudes, and no anxiety. Just pure excitement and appreciation for the upcoming day and for those who are surrounding the couple.

This was Grant + Monika’s wedding.

These two bring joy with them and their wedding day was nothing short of that. It’s always inspiring to watch a couple step into marriage with ALL of their friends and family support, love and cheering them on. Everyone loves Grant + Monika. That was so obvious. And as Monika declared during her vows, that Grant IS her soulmate, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. Having met in high school, all of their friends and family have also awaited this day, when these two would become husband and wife. They are destined for a life full of love, fun, and hilarious jokes. These two deserve it and have waited to start their lives together as husband and wife for a long time.

Congrats you two! We couldn’t be more blessed by your love for each other, others and your astounding friendship together.

You never would have guessed that our conversation during the first half of this shoot was centered around what it’s like to see a dead body, how certain organs in your body work, and when rigamortis goes away after someone dies.

Or that towards the end of the shoot we were swapping ghost stories and scaling walls. Or that at dinner we learned a lot more about Holden’s two year mission in Bulgaria. He has some amazing stories about the people, history of the country and of his own experiences there. We found these two fascinating. Talking about everything from all of our personal lives to the history of typography, I’m not sure there was a topic we DIDN’T cover! We could hang with these two any day.

We finished the night by grabbing dinner at The Parlor, which if you’ve never eaten there YOU MUST. It was awesome to spend a good chunk of time with these two and to get to know them as a couple. They’re awesome together. Their marriage is going to be full of laughs, interesting topics and adventure.

We can’t wait for May you two! It’s right around the corner!!
