Welcome to Session Nine Photographers

We are Jason + Jessica Williams, and we are so stoked that you are here! We're a husband and wife international photography duo with a homebase in Scottsdale AZ. Using something as simple as a camera, we're able to share life and love, laughter and light, through fantastic friends that we meet along the way. We are constantly amazed that we have the opportunity to do this in life. If you dig what we're doing, then we'd love to share your story.

We like to get out of town for our photo shoots whenever we can. Traveling anywhere is one of our favorite things, so when this fabulous gal mentioned she’d like to head up north, we were all over it.

So a couple weeks after a fun brainstorming session with Jacova, AND after a rad styling session with none other than Alex Evjen with AVE Styles, we packed our gear (vintage couch INCLUDED), grabbed some diet cokes and headed up north towards payson for the afternoon.

Everything about this photo shoot was perfect for Jacova. She is a senior in high school this year with an incredibly bright future ahead of her. She has many talents, many ambitions and endless possibilities. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know her through the high school group at Scottsdale Bible church and we were thrilled when she sought us out to do her Senior Session. The locations we picked were peaceful, quiet and serene. But we laughed A LOT during the few hours we were together. Jacova is easy to joke with and is so full of joy. And as the sun started going down, we just decided to keep on shooting regardless of the nightfall. So the sun kept setting and we kept on shooting. And pretty soon we were standing in the middle of a desolate street and it was almost completely black. It made for some really interesting and beautiful images. We wrapped the night by grabbing dinner with her and her dad at El Rancho, which is a yummy Mexican restaurant in Payson. We are always up for Mexican food.

What a great day. Check out Jacova. She’s pretty rad.

Our oldest son Cruz, LOVES Angry Birds. We can guarantee that he has no idea what it really is.

To him, they are called ‘Red Fishy Birds’ and he’s obsessed with ‘playing’ it on our iPhones. So we got him this stuffed animal for Valentine’s Day. Be still his heart, when he pulled the tissue paper out to find none other than, a RED FISHY BIRD.

Our kids rock.

We had the incredible opportunity to do a styled/creative shoot with one of the most creative people we know! There is no end to the ideas, imagination, creativity and energy with Christine Valero. It’s contagious and inspiring.

Christine is a hair stylist with Hair Story Salon in Gilbert. She colors my (Jess) hair so I’m fortunate enough to be able to catch up on life with her every six to eight weeks or so. Every single time I’m there, she is creating something new or setting out to create something new. Her creative brain is ALWAYS spinning and dreaming up amazing stuff. Not only that, but she is very, very good at putting her vision together. So the last time I was there, her and I had an impromptu brainstorming session about a styled photo shoot that would incorporate her Le Tweets. Christine makes the mosts AMAZING hair accessories- I have a few myself! She makes each creation by hand and I am ALWAYS blown away by the new ones she envisions.

And quick side note- she totally has amazing Le Tweets that are specifically for BRIDES. You guys. If you’re getting married and want to have a fancy little something in your hair that’s different from ANY other bride, THIS is the lady to call.

So anyways. We scheduled a time for me to come out to her very own home and to photograph models that she styled herself with all of her fabulous creations on. It was a blast. Christine has even BIGGER plans for her business and her and I might be teaming up in the future for some different things that she’s working on. Stay tuned for that! But in the meantime, check out the girly fun we had not too long ago. And get in touch with Christine to either get your hair ‘did’ or to snatch up her fabulous hair accessories.

You’ll regret it if you don’t!

The other evening we spent a fantastic night out on the town with John & Sarah shooting some new engagement images for them before they got hitched coming up this February. The downtown Phoenix metropolitan vibe was dead on PERFECT for these two urbanites…

When we first met John & Sarah, we knew that we were gonna love these two. First off, Sarah is likely the nicest, most gracious person we’ve ever met. And John has this brilliant intellectual sarcasm about him that we just fed off the entire night as we laughed together.

Not to mention that they are both in the architecture industry and love good design. Sarah even legitimately paints! Some of her rad canvases were hanging up in John’s loft as Jess and I waited for them to get ready.

We made the most of the evening sun and some of the awesome Phoenix skyline, and then finished it off with a dinner on the patio at The Main Ingredient Ale House & Cafe. We got to chat about dreams for their big day on February 19th, and finalize some timeline details, but most of all we got to know this incredible couple just a little bit better.

John & Sarah have the world at their feet. And they’re starting a new journey together in just a couple weeks. Stay tuned friends, their wedding story is going to be amazing.

We have a good feeling. :)

This photo shoot was originally scheduled to take place a couple of months ago. BUT, as luck would have it, it POURED down rain on the day of their shoot. So much so, that we didn’t even attempt to meet up. We just knew that it wasn’t going to stop raining. So we rescheduled with them and were thrilled to get them back onto our calendar.

THEN. The day of their rescheduled shoot, we woke up to more GLOOM. Grey clouds covered the sky threatening to pour down rain once again. This time, we were determined to have a successful shoot, rain or shine! The weather decided to cooperate with us on this day, and we actually didn’t see one drop of rain. So we were able to meet this incredible family, FINALLY. We spent some time with them in downtown Phoenix on the cloudy afternoon, romping through piles of leaves, eating Cheerios,  and laughing all the way. Blair, Janine and their two kiddos were a breath of fresh air to photograph.

We’re happy to share this post with you this Saturday! AND it’s perfect timing because it’s their sweet little girl’s first birthday today. Happy Birthday Addison!
